Go and research the campaign donations that Senators receive from health insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Will guarantee you that the ones with the largest amounts of donations are the exact ones most against a robust public option.
No, they want to keep their jobs. The public majority doesn’t support this governement expansion. It is costly, it doesn’t even cover 100%, it will lead to rationed care and slower service. Do you realize if they just covered the 12-14 million uninsured (legitimately ones who can’t afford it only), they could do so for about $3000 per year? That’s less than half the cost of what Congress is proposing!!
The public is something this nation can’t afford. Beside you really think that the government in charge of more thing is really going to help our nation get out of debt? Medicare and post office Where not good enough examples of bureaucratic failure. You really want them in charge of whether you need surgery or not? And since elections are right around the corner ( which by the way are going to be funded by stimulus money crazy right? That is helping the economy) some of the senator know they can’t gamble because they may not get reelected. Driving the country into debt beyond what we could ever pay back does not look really good on a campaign slogan.
the goverment cant run themselves how can they run health care look at social security and medicare where do you think this money is going to come from medicare is going to suffer
Only the Senators know since we do not have easy access to 1000’s of pages of BS.
Wouldn’t it be nice if these proposals didn’t involve all that paperwork? I am absolutely sure it CAN be done.
If you can take them at their word, they don’t seem to think the private companies can compete against the government. Some of them are blinded by their ideology, which tells them government can never do anything as well as the free market.
When this bill passes and becomes law I believe that the government should grant amnesty to the elderly who whack the nut job who is leading us down the road of destruction.
Public option is no good.

health care reform = forcing everyone to buy health insurance from health insurance companies = corporate welfare for insurance companies
